Grounding Action-Selection in Event-Based Anticipation
نویسندگان
چکیده
Can we use the constructed predictive model as a basis for action-selection? We develop an event-based anticipation framework for performing latent learning and we provide two mathematical tools to identify relevant relationships between events. These tools allow us to build a predictive model which is then embedded in an action-selection architecture to generate adaptive behavior. We first analyze some of the properties of the model in simple learning tasks. Its efficiency is then evaluated in a more complex task where the agent has to adapt to a changing environment. متن کاملListening to musical rhythms recruits motor regions of the brain.
Perception and actions can be tightly coupled; but does a perceptual event dissociated from action processes still engage the motor system? We conducted 2 functional magnetic resonance imaging studies involving rhythm perception and production to address this question. In experiment 1, on each trial subjects 1st listened in anticipation of tapping, and then tapped along with musical rhythms. Re...

The ability to predict the trajectory of a ball based on the opponent's body kinematics has been shown to be critical to high-performing athletes in many sports. However, little is known about the neural correlates underlying such superior ability in action anticipation. The present event-related potential study compared brain responses from professional badminton players and non-player control...
متن کاملBack-flashover Investigation of HV Transmission Lines Using Transient Modeling of the Grounding Systems
The article presents the transients analysis of the substation grounding systems and transmission line tower footing resistances which can affect to the back-flashover (BF) or overvoltage across insulator chain in an HV power systems by using EMTP-RV software. The related transient modeling of the grounding systems is based on a transmission line (TL) model with considering the soil ionization....
متن کاملCognitively Inspired Anticipation and Anticipatory Learning Mechanisms for Autonomous Agents
This paper describes the integration of several cognitively inspired anticipation and anticipatory learning mechanisms in an autonomous agent architecture, the Learning Intelligent Distribution Agent (LIDA) system. We provide computational mechanisms for variants of payoff, state, and sensorial anticipatory mechanisms. The payoff anticipatory mechanism in LIDA is implicitly realized by the acti...
